We’ve owned and operated Budget Self-Storage, which was formerly called Belton City Mini Storage, for over 10 years. We got into the storage business because of a bad experience Brian had with a national chain self-storage facility. The national chains are notorious for having great “move in specials” to get you in the door at a cheap rate. Brian and a business partner got organized, and settled in to their unit. They even built shelving to increase space to properly manage inventory for their business. Then after 90 days they got a significant rate increase. Moving to another facility would be a lot of work so they absorbed that rate increase. Another 90 days passed and they got hit with another rate increase. Suddenly that “move in special” is not so great after all. They ended up moving out of the unit and finding space in their garages because it suddenly got way too expensive for a startup business to store inventory. Because of this bad experience Brian saw a need that could be filled and knew that this was the right business to get into. With the help of his wife, Stacie, and his parents, Ron and Judy Smith, a dream was born.
When you call Budget Self-Storage you will not get rate increases every 90 days. What you see is what you get. We don’t use those bait and switch tactics that the big companies do. We take pride in the fact that we run our facility with integrity and honesty. When you call you will get a live person answering the phone, and not an automated service.
